How Long Does an IPL Photo Rejuvenation/FotoFacial Treatment Take?

The photo rejuvenation procedure takes 20-30 minutes.

What Is an IPL Photo Rejuvenation/FotoFacial?

The FotoFacial procedure uses radiofrequency, infrared, and intense pulsed light energy to address red discolouration, fine lines, blemishes, and brown spots on the face, neck, chest, and hands. This treatment is also used to reduce the appearance of spider veins on the face.

Who is an Ideal IPL Photo Rejuvenation/FotoFacial Candidate?

If you are tired of dealing with signs of aging, skin imperfections, or brown spots, you may be ready to commit to FotoFacial Treatment. If your imperfections make you feel older or lower your self-confidence, you are the ideal candidate for an IPL Photo Rejuvenation Treatment.

If you have unrealistic expectations from the treatment, have certain inflammatory conditions, cancerous tumors, or are using Accutane, you should not receive FotoFacial Treatments.

Benefits of IPL Photo Rejuvenation/FotoFacial

  • Some of the benefits of IPL Photo Rejuvenation in Toronto include:
    • Vibrant, youthful skin. Patients notice a significant 80% improvement in wrinkles, discolouration, uneven tone, and blemishes after five treatments. The skin also feels softer and gives you a more youthful appearance.
    • Collagen production. The FotoFacial Treatment stimulates the body’s collagen production, making the skin look smoother and younger. Because of boosted collagen, patients will enjoy results long after the procedure.
    • Fast recovery. After a FotoFacial Treatment, downtime is minimal. You can resume normal activities immediately and will fully recover after two days.
    • Wallet-friendly. FotoFacial Treatments are more affordable than any other age-defying treatment. You can enjoy a youthful, smooth appearance without breaking the bank.

IPL Photo Rejuvenation/FotoFacial Risks

While our trusted aesthetic specialist has not seen many of the extreme risks, some include:

  • Redness. You may experience some facial redness immediately following the FotoFacial procedure, but any appearance of being flushed will go away within 48 hours.
  • Swelling. Mild swelling is possible after the procedure but isn’t always noticeable. The swelling will go away after 48 hours.
  • Bruising. You may experience mild bruising after the procedure and be a bit sore, but both symptoms will again go away after 48 hours.
  • Scarring. Although this is a rare reaction, you may experience scarring after the procedure. It’s best to go to a licensed, reliable team like the one at Toronto Plastic Surgeons for the procedure and discuss your goals, health, and desired results during your consultation.

What to Expect After an IPL Photo Rejuvenation/FotoFacial Treatment

Patients will notice their FotoFacial Treatment results one week after treatments and continue to get closer to their desired outcome after each treatment. You will achieve optimal results after your final treatment.

Recovery from a FotoFacial treatment is relatively quick – you will only experience mild swelling or redness for 48 hours at most. If the treatment was used to treat dark spots, the spots might appear darker at first, but the spots will fade and flake off shortly thereafter. You can resume normal activities following the FotoFacial procedure, but you should always wear sunscreen outside.

How Long Does It Take To Heal From IPL FotoFacial?

The majority of patients experience slight redness for 2-5 days after the IPL FotoFacial, but with more aggressive treatments you can experience bruising that can last for up to two weeks. Some patients also experience darkening of age spots or freckles, but this means that your IPL FotoFacial worked correctly. Spots can continue to darken for 3-7 days until they flake away, and flaking can last for up to 10 days.
