What Is IntimaWave?
Fotona StarFormer® IntimaWave® is a non-invasive pelvic-floor treatment that uses High Intensity Tesla (magnetic field strength) Stimulation (HITS®) technology to stimulate pelvic-floor muscles.
During treatment, you remain fully clothed and sit comfortably in the IntimaWave chair. Magnetic pulses pass through clothing and tissue to stimulate repeated pelvic-floor muscle contractions, helping to strengthen and tone the pelvic floor.
IntimaWave is a treatment option for pelvic-floor strengthening and urinary incontinence, including stress, urge and mixed urinary incontinence. It may also be used for pelvic-floor rehabilitation.
Who Is a Candidate?
IntimaWave may be considered for those experiencing:
- Pelvic-floor weakness
- Stress urinary incontinence
- Urge urinary incontinence
- Mixed urinary incontinence
- Pelvic-floor weakness following pregnancy or childbirth
- Pelvic-floor rehabilitation following certain procedures
- Other concerns associated with reduced pelvic-floor muscle strength
A medical assessment may be recommended to determine the cause of urinary or pelvic-floor symptoms and whether IntimaWave is appropriate.
