What Is TightWave?
Fotona StarFormer® TightWave® is a non-invasive body-sculpting treatment that uses High Intensity Tesla (magnetic field strength) Stimulation (HITS®) technology to stimulate muscles through electromagnetic energy.
The magnetic pulses cause involuntary muscle contractions, providing a form of intensive muscle stimulation without traditional exercise. TightWave is designed to strengthen, tone and firm targeted muscle groups
Treatment areas include the:
- Glutes
- Abdomen
- Hamstrings
- Arms
- Back muscles
Who Is a Candidate?
TightWave may be suitable for those who:

- Want to complement their exercise routine
- Are looking for a non-invasive muscle-stimulation treatment
- Want to focus on areas such as the abdomen, glutes, arms, back or hamstrings
- Have realistic expectations about muscle-toning treatments
It is not intended to replace a healthy diet or regular physical activity.
Treatment Benefits
Potential benefits include:
- Muscle strengthening
- Improved muscle tone
- Enhanced muscle definition
- Firming of targeted areas
- Non-invasive treatment

How Long Does It Take?
A typical TightWave session is approximately 20–30 minutes, depending on the treatment area and specific needs of the individual.
What to Expect After Treatment
During treatment, you will feel repeated muscle contractions that increase in intensity based on your comfort and treatment protocol.
Afterward, the treated muscles may feel as though you have completed an intense workout. Mild muscle fatigue or soreness can occur.
Results generally develop progressively with a course of treatments and can be supported by regular exercise and healthy lifestyle habits.
Recovery Time
There is generally no formal downtime. Most patients can return to their normal activities immediately following treatment.
Risks and Benefits
Benefits: Non-invasive muscle stimulation, improved muscle tone and strength, enhanced definition and minimal downtime.
Possible risks: Temporary muscle soreness, fatigue, cramping or discomfort may occur, similar to the sensation experienced after strenuous exercise. Your provider will screen you for any medical factors that could make magnetic muscle stimulation unsuitable.
