Breast Lift with Implants in Toronto

As you get older, your breasts start to sag and lose their shape and perkiness. It’s an unavoidable part of aging, but the results can leave you with a bit of a blow to your self-image. However, there’s an easy solution to this problem. Breast Augmentation is what you need if you aren’t satisfied with the way your breasts look and want a change. Breast surgery with implants is one of the most requested procedures in the world, and the results can significantly improve your self-esteem, giving you back the confidence of youth because you now have the body you feel is right for you.

Toronto Plastic Surgeons is an industry leader in breast lift techniques. Our surgeon, Dr. Thomas Bell, has the background, training and experience to make him one of Toronto’s top board certified plastic surgeons. His skill in breast implants has made him one of the most trusted plastic surgeons in Toronto, with a track record in the field of breast augmentation that’s second to none.

What is a Breast Lift with Implants?

A Mastopexy with Implants is designed to correct the elevation, contour, and volume of drooping breasts. But its effects are more than just skin deep; by restoring the bust’s fullness, a breast lift with implants significantly boosts a patient’s self-worth and self-confidence.

Who is a Breast Lift with Implants Candidate?

Do you struggle with self-confidence because of how your breasts look? Have you always wanted your breasts to look and feel different? If you’ve answered yes to any of the questions above, you might be a good candidate for breast augmentation.

But, just because you want a breast augmentation, does that mean one is possible? Modern breast implant techniques mean that almost anyone can be a good candidate, although proper physical health and realistic expectations can make the recovery process more seamless. You can be an excellent candidate for cosmetic breast surgery with implants if you have lost breast tissue volume, skin elasticity, and form in your breasts. But you can also get the surgery done if you want your breasts to look different, too!

We invite all interested in this procedure to contact The Toronto Plastic Surgeons for a consultation. However, if you do not feel this is right for you, please visit our non-surgical procedure page.

Your Breast Lift Consultation with Dr. Bell

The first step before any breast augmentation at Toronto Plastic Surgeons includes a thorough consultation with Dr. Bell, who will answer any questions you have about the procedure. This is an excellent time to discuss any concerns you may have, and each step of the process, including prep and recovery, will be explained to you in detail. Dr. Bell will help you choose the right kind of implants depending on your desired outcome, and you should be able to leave the consultation feeling confident and excited about the procedure.

How Much Does a Breast Lift with Implants Cost?

The cost of a Breast Augmentation starts at $19,999, but this depends on the type of implants chosen and the way the surgery and incisions are performed.

However, the costs will be explained to you in detail during your personalized consultation with Dr. Bell.

How to Prepare for a Breast Lift with Implants

To ensure a successful perky breast augmentation surgery, the doctor will advise that you follow certain preparations in the weeks leading up to your procedure date:

  • Smoking should be discontinued two weeks leading up to the procedure and two weeks after. Those who continue to smoke will have a longer recovery period and a greater likelihood of complications.
  • Two weeks before your procedure, patients must cease taking Aspirin or any medication that contains Aspirin.
  • Six hours prior to surgery, patients must stop consuming any food or drink. Small sips of water are permitted, however.
  • Avoid sun damage two weeks before surgery. This can be achieved by wearing sunscreen.

How is a Breast Lift with Implants Performed at TPS?

All breast lifts with implants are performed within the comfort of the modern Toronto Plastic Surgeons and SpaMedica Surgical suites. The breast lift with implant surgery is entirely personalized and specifically designed by our expert team to match your desired results.

Prior to your surgery, breast lift surgeons will administer anesthesia to ensure that the procedure is entirely painless. During the process, Dr. Bell will make a small incision below the breasts to gain better access to the skin tissue. Later, the surgeon will insert an implant through the incision, all while contouring the breast accordingly.

How Long Does a Breast Lift with Implants Take?

The Toronto Plastic Surgeons can perform surgery in approximately 4 hours. Before they are driven home, patients will receive post-operative instructions from their doctors.

What to Expect After a Breast Lift with Implants

Following your breast implants, Dr. Bell will give you detailed post-operative instructions to ensure a seamless recovery. Please remember that you will be required to wear a tight-fitting compression garment for several weeks, as its presence will allow the breasts to heal and for swelling to subside. Some pain and discomfort will be present in the first few days but should be quite manageable with pain medication. You can also expect swelling and bruising, although this will subside over the next few weeks as you recover from your breast lift procedure.

One important thing to note is that following your breast implants, you will be required to undergo routine screening for breast cancer. Regular mammograms should be performed every two years for women over 50 regardless of their breast surgery history, and you should advise your doctor whether you have breast implants. Given how common a procedure this is, all mammography centers are very used to screening patients with implants, so it should not, under any circumstances, prevent you from getting regular screenings done.

What Kind Of Scarring Will I Have After My Breast Lift Surgery?

Thanks to Dr. Bell’s knowledge and expertise, scarring after your breast augmentation should be minimal. The incision to insert the silicone implants is typically made alongside the fold underneath the breast. Its natural crease should be able to hide whatever minimal scarring results from the augmentation.

Other incisions may be made around the areola. Still, they are done towards the darker edge of the nipple, making the scar tissue easy to hide as it exists in the natural transition area between the nipple and skin.

Other methods that change the pattern of how the implant is inserted can be done and will result in less visible scarring, but the trade-off is that the lift effect of the surgery may not be as powerful as with traditional routes. However, no matter what approach you choose, you can expect excellent results and minimal scarring that should be barely noticeable.

Recovery and Timeline

Given that this is a major surgery, you should expect a solid amount of recovery time needed following your breast augmentation. However, this is also a very routine procedure, and the healing process shouldn’t take too long. Here’s what you should expect in the weeks and months following your surgery:

After the Surgery: Due to the effects of the anesthesia, the patient will be driven home by a friend or relative. The patient will return home with a garment designed to reduce swelling.

Week 1: After the first week, the patient may return to work.

Week 2: Swelling and discomfort should subside completely.

Month 1: After the first month, the compression garment will be removed, and the patient may resume participating in strenuous physical activities.

To note, following your surgery, Dr. Bell will provide you with follow-up appointments to track the healing process and to ensure optimal results from your breast augmentation. We’ll be with you every step of the way.

How Long Does it Take to Recover from a Breast Lift with Implants?

While it will take months for the final results of the procedure to become apparent, patients can typically return to work 7 days after undergoing a breast lift with implants.

Benefits of a Breast Lift with Implants

Added Volume

Patients who undergo breast lift surgery with silicone gel implants will enjoy a significantly bigger bust (depending on the size chosen) that looks fuller and feels firmer.

Correct Sagging Breasts

By adding volume to your breast tissue and fixing nipples that point downward, the Toronto Plastic Surgeons will correct breasts that appear droopy.

Circular Breast Shape

Breast implants with silicone gel implants will result in a breast shape that is circular, asymmetrical, and well-proportioned.

Revitalized Breast Appearance

A breast augmentation will boost self-confidence by establishing a youthful bust that looks and feels natural.

Risks of a Mastopexy with Implants

Like every surgery, Breast Lift with Breast Augmentation comes with a slight chance of potential complications. The best thing patients can do to minimize the likelihood of complications is to select a trusted surgeon.

  • Infections: Even though infections are rare, the Toronto Plastic Surgeons take every precaution to ensure the procedure is a smooth and seamless experience.
  • Adverse anesthesia effects: In some cases, the anesthesia used in the surgery can have an adverse effect on the patient. For this reason, the Toronto Plastic Surgeons carefully review the medical history of every single patient who walks through their doors.
  • Issues with breastfeeding: There is a very slim possibility that the milk ducts will be damaged by the incision used to perform a breast lift with implants.
  • Unexpected bruising: Sometimes, the procedure can result in unexpected bruising. Regardless, even unexpected bruising will subside after a few weeks.

FAQ

How Painful is it to Get Breast Augmentation?

Due to the anesthesia administered during the procedure, the patient will not feel any pain during the surgery. While it is normal to experience some swelling and discomfort after the procedure, there will be no extreme or long-term pain. In fact, this irritation can be easily controlled with oral medication prescribed by Dr. Bell.

Are both the Lifts and Implants Done at the Same Time?

Yes! Dr. Bell will perform the lift and the implants at the same time. Implants merely represent an extension of traditional breast augmentation, as they are used for patients looking for more volume and fullness than a regular lift can provide.

What Is the Difference Between Breast Lift and Breast Augmentation With Implants?

Breast Augmentation with Implants is different from a straightforward Breast Lift. While that procedure is an excellent way to address breast sag, it mainly involves the removal of excess skin and breast tissue to reshape the breast mound. No silicone gel implants are inserted, so your breast cup size won’t change. If you want to alter the shape and size of your breasts significantly and increase their size in proportion to the rest of your body, Breast Implant Surgery with silicone implants is required.
