After 25 years as Canada’s most recognized and renowned plastic surgeon, Dr. Mulholland retired from active plastic surgery.

Dr. Mulholland has moved to London, UK, to pursue expansion opportunities for two companies he founded, InMode Medical Equipment Technology and BoomerangFX, SaaS-based practice management and marketing software.

Dr. Thomas Bell has taken over Plastic Surgery at SpaMedica and Toronto Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Stephen Mulholland has been practicing the art and science of Cosmetic Plastic Surgery for over 20 years. He is one of Canada’s best and most renowned plastic surgeons, operating with a wealth of experience, artistry, and humbleness towards his patients for over 2 decades.

Dr. Mulholland received his medical degree from the prestigious University of Toronto Medical School, excelling in his Plastic Surgery training and residency in Plastic at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Mulholland followed up his training in Plastic Surgery, with an advanced fellowship with world-renowned ENT Head and Neck Oncology cancer surgeon Dr. Patrick Gullane at the Toronto General Hospital, where he became certified in the oncologic removal of advanced head and neck cancers. He also completed a fellowship at the Sunnybrook Hospital, training with Dr. Oleh Antonyshyn and Dr. Ralph Gilbert, in craniofacial trauma and reconstructive head and neck microsurgery.

After completing his dual certification in Plastic Surgery and ENT – Head and Neck Oncology, Dr. Mulholland was appointed consultant at the Hamilton Regional Cancer Center, treating, removing and reconstructing advanced cancers of the head, neck and oral cavity, as well as craniofacial fracture and trauma reconstruction at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Dr. Mulholland developed and published his own free tissue microvascular transplantation used to reconstruct the jaw bone and tongue after they were removed for advanced cancer, an operation called the Osteocutaneous Skin Flap.

In 1997, Dr. Mulholland opened up the SpaMedica Cosmetic Plastic Center and Medical Spa.

Since the clinic’s launch, Dr. Mulholland has performed over 6000 cosmetic surgical procedures, delivering expert results to numerous patients. Whether it be a procedure on the face, head, body, breasts, or buttocks, Dr. Mulholland is a perfectionist when it comes to delivering the best results. SpaMedica has grown to become Canada’s largest private Laser Skin Center, with well over 50 innovative, non-invasive laser and energy-based devices.

Dr. Mulholland has been educating Canadian consumers on plastic surgery and cosmetic enhancement options for over 2 decades and has appeared on every national TV show and network, with over 300 television appearances including a guest expert on Cityline, Etalk, Breakfast Television, Entertainment Tonight Canada, CBC and CTV. He has been featured in the Globe and Mail, Toronto Star and the National Post. He was named one of Canada’s top plastic surgeons by Fashion Magazine, Toronto Life, Flair, and Maclean’s. Dr. Mulholland is a regular guest expert on Talk 1010, The Night Side, with host Barb Digiulio.

Dr. Mulholland has authored chapters in two consumer books on plastic surgery, “Later Diary” and “The Cougar”, both authored by news veteran and columnist, Valarie Gibson.

He has won the Gemini TV award in 2001 for his role as the plastic surgeon and doctor in the first make-over cosmetic surgery series, Skin Deep. The show featured in-depth stories of real women undergoing transformative changes. He is the only plastic surgeon to ever win a Gemini award.
