One of the most refreshing trends we’ve seen in the world of plastic surgery is how openly celebs talk about their plastic surgeries. And this is really helping to humanize mega-stars and help their fans identify with them.

We certainly get asked about celebrities a lot. When you do plastic surgery in Toronto or any other popular movie-making city, you’re going to get asked if you have any celebrity clients. It’s inevitable… particularly during TIFF.

Of course, because of the nature of our work, discretion and confidentiality are always of the utmost importance. We would never violate our clients’ trust. And we always extend that confidentiality to every single one of our clients.

The following celebrities are not our clients, but they have all confirmed that they have had nose jobs, and they all talk openly about what a positive impact their surgery had on their lives.

1. Jennifer Aniston

There are few faces on the planet that are more recognizable than Jennifer Aniston. She exploded onto the scene with her role on Friends and hasn’t left the public eye since.

Predictably, when the rumours about her possible nose job started to spread, the tabloid media was sent into a frenzy. However, she soon responded by talking very openly about the fact that she underwent the surgery to correct a deviated septum that had plagued her for years.

This is very common. If you’re looking for a nose job in Toronto, you’re not always doing so for cosmetic reasons. There could be something about the bone structure that is causing you problems. People suffering from a deviated septum may be living with things like chronic sleep problems, breathing issues, or hindered athletic performance.

That was certainly the case for Jennifer Anniston. She said the surgery was one of the best things she had ever done for herself. She added that she “slept like a baby for the first time in years.”

Remember, not all celebrities with nose jobs did it for the look.

2. Jillian Michaels

You’ve probably seen Jillian Michaels in her role on The Biggest Loser and countless other fitness TV shows or DVDs. She exudes body confidence. However, if you saw her in her teenage years, you would have likely seen someone feeling very insecure because of constant bullying.

Michaels has opened up and spoken candidly about her struggles during her teenage years, and the bullying about her nose that she had to endure. This led her to make the decision to take charge of things and get a rhinoplasty procedure when she was 16-years-old.

This is actually far more common today than it would have been in the 90s, when Michaels was a teen. As a matter of fact, The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) recently released the results from their annual members’ survey. Their data shows that the number of teens looking into rhinoplasty procedures is up from 2019 and 41% of surveyed surgeons identified this as a rising trend.

The Zoom Effect

The same survey also reported that nose jobs were up across the board, with 69% of surgeons reporting an increase in rhinoplasty procedures during the pandemic lockdown. Another 83% of surgeons attributed this increase to the so-called Zoom Effect. Millions of people are working from home, dialling into Zoom calls every day, and hating how they look.

If you were already insecure about your nose prior to the lockdown, daily Zoom calls are probably torturous for you. How bad is it? One study revealed that a picture taken from one foot away increases your perceived nose size by 30%, compared to a picture taken from 5 feet. That’s essentially the distance of most webcam calls.

The pandemic lockdown also presents a unique opportunity for people to get facial surgery, and then discreetly recover while working from home. They don’t need to be in the office from 9-5 every day and they can simply turn off their webcam on video calls for a week or so while they recover from their procedure.

3. Mickey Rourke

Of course, actresses aren’t the only celebrities who get nose jobs. Male actors certainly do it too.

One classic example is actor, Mickey Rourke. He is actually a fascinating case. He was known for his rugged good looks during the early stages of his career, with roles in classic movies like 9 1/2 Weeks and Barfly. However, he suffered burnout and decided to pursue his passion for boxing.

We don’t have to tell you what getting punched in the face for a living can do to your appearance. In fact, we could fill an entire blog with athletes that have had rhinoplasty to fix deviated septums that were sustained in the heat of battle. Without corrective actions, their noses are unsightly and can even cause serious breathing problems.

Rourke got his nose job to undo some of the damage that his boxing career did to his nose. He also got a full facelift to tighten things up and take years off of his appearance. He proudly shared a picture on his Instagram following his procedure and announced to the world, “Now I am pretty again.”

The nose job is actually the most popular procedure among male patients. Men underwent just under 50,000 rhinoplasty procedures in 2019 and accounted for about 24% of the overall nose job market. Once again, it would not be surprising to see these numbers jump even higher during the pandemic lockdown.

Procedurally speaking, there is no big difference between a male nose job and a female nose job, but the goals are often different. There is definitely a difference between what is considered traditionally handsome and what is seen as classically pretty.

If you choose our clinic for a rhinoplasty procedure, we can show you how any given changes will look. You get the opportunity to try it on, before you buy, so to speak. This ensures that you and your surgeon are 100% on the same page.

You can also come to us if you’re unhappy with a nose job that another surgeon has performed. Dr. Bell is an expert in revision rhinoplasty and can help you (finally) get the look you want.

4. Kaley Cuoco

Many of the celebrities that undergo a rhinoplasty procedure say that it was one of the best decisions they had ever made. Kaley Cuoco from The Flight Attendant and The Big Bang Theory is certainly a shining example of that.

In 2016, she confirmed that she underwent rhinoplasty surgery and breast augmentation surgery. She told Women’s Health Magazine that, “Years ago, I had my nose done and my boobs — best thing I ever did.”

Now in her 30s, she says she’s never liked the way she looks more than she does today. She added that she uses a sensible diet and yoga to maintain that look.

When it comes to body contouring (i.e. liposuction or tummy tuck) or breast augmentation, we always recommend living an active lifestyle and eating well. This is an important conversation that we have with our clients, as it is absolutely crucial in protecting their results.

5. Ashley Tisdale

This actress, singer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist is simply one of the best role models you’re ever going to find. And in terms of celebrity nose jobs, she is once again setting a great example by being open and candid about her procedure.

Tisdale opened up about her 2007 nose job in a recent interview. Like Jennifer Aniston, Tisdale underwent the procedure to address a deviated septum that was causing her breathing problems.

She also addressed the backlash she faced back in 2007, when plastic surgery was still stigmatized by tabloid media. She’s glad that people are far more open-minded in 2021, and added that she wished, “Other women could approach this subject the same way, we could probably feel less shame and a lot more love.”

We couldn’t agree more and we thank her for being an incredible role model that is helping to break down stigmas and open minds.

Nose Jobs are Definitely Not Just For Celebrities

It’s fun to discuss the best celebrity nose jobs, but this is not something that is reserved for the rich and famous. That is certainly one of the more popular myths about nose jobs out there today. And it is wildly untrue.

There were well over 207,000 successful rhinoplasty procedures in the year 2019, making it the third most popular plastic surgery procedure in North America. As we mentioned earlier, the total numbers for 2020 haven’t been tabulated yet, but we’re expecting to see a major rise in those numbers because of the global lockdown.

Nose jobs are also surprisingly affordable and definitely not just for A-listers. Our rhinoplasty procedures start at $8,999. We also offer procedure financing to make things even more affordable.

Rhinoplasty FAQs

Now that we’ve covered some of the best celebrity nose jobs in Hollywood, you might have a few questions about the process.

Here are some of the most common questions that we answer every day.

Do Nose Jobs Hurt?

Not at all. Dr. Bell and an anesthesiologist will administer general and local anesthesia so that you’re comfortable and your procedure will be completely pain-free.

It is also worth noting that Dr. Bell is one of our nation’s leading authorities on ultrasonic rhinoplasty. This is a leading-edge ultrasound device that skilled surgeons use to break and shape the nose with almost no bruising or swelling.

Are There Non-Surgical Alternatives?

Yes! If you’re not quite ready for a full-blown surgery, you might consider what’s called the 5-Minute Nose Job. Our Dr. Bell has been performing this procedure for years.

This is also called an injection rhinoplasty. Basically, your surgeon will utilize a dermal soft tissue filler (Juvederm, Restylane, Revanesse, and/or Teosyal) to change the look of common issues like bridge bumps, bridge scoops, crooked noses, or bulbous tips. The entire procedure is non-surgical, non-invasive, and can be done in a few quick minutes (hence the name). It’s also very popular because it can make a noticeable difference and address a lot of the most common complaints that people have about their noses.

How Do I Choose My Rhinoplasty Doctor?

You need to be 100% confident in the surgeon you choose and make sure they are the one for you.

We always say look at the results. Look at any given surgeon’s rhinoplasty before and after pictures and judge them based on the quality of their work.
