Have you been spending a lot of time on Zoom and FaceTime recently? Do you find yourself constantly looking at your own face while you’re on these calls? You’re not alone!

Millions of Canadians are still locked down, which means they’re working from home and keeping in touch with loved ones via video calls. This technology gives us a great way to keep in touch and stay connected. However, it also gives us a chance to obsess over our faces and ask questions like:

  • Am I getting frown lines?
  • Is this a bad angle, or do I have a double chin?
  • Has my hairline moved back?
  • Does my nose always look like this?

Daily video calls are linked to a new influx of people contacting plastic surgeons to inquire about anti-aging procedures.

Are you considering plastic surgery? We are here to help! Today, we will take a close look at some of the most popular and effective anti-aging procedures that can help you look years younger.

Rhinoplasty

If you have a crooked nose, it can be a major source of insecurity. Not loving your nose can make you hyperconscious of your good angles. You might feel uncomfortable when someone tries to take a picture of you from the wrong angle or if someone is standing on your bad side in a group setting.

Some people may be bullied about their nose in school and get rhinoplasty as soon as they are legally allowed to. This was the case for fitness legend Jillian Michaels. She was bullied relentlessly about her nose and got a rhinoplasty at the age of 16.

Our rhinoplasty procedures are performed by Toronto Plastic Surgeons, who are among the most respected rhinoplasty surgeons in Canada. He has countless satisfied customers and impressive rhinoplasty before-and-after photos that speak for themselves. Toronto Plastic Surgeons offers both female and male rhinoplasty procedures so everyone can achieve their aesthetic goals.

What Can Rhinoplasty Do For Me?

A nose job can help you address problems like:

  •   A lack of symmetry between the nose and the face
  •   Bumps from overgrown cartilage
  •   Wide nasal bones
  •   A crooked nose
  •   A large, bulbous tip
  •   A bridge scoop

Your surgeon will work with you to assess your goals and develop a customized plan.

Medical/Structural Changes

Not everyone looking for a rhinoplasty surgeon in Toronto is looking to make purely cosmetic changes. Some people are struggling with structural issues in their bones and cartilage that are causing respiratory issues or other health problems.

A medical rhinoplasty procedure can remove nasal obstructions and help you with:

  •   Difficult or loud breathing through the nose
  •   Compromised athletic performance or difficulty breathing while exercising
  •   Disturbed sleep, snoring, and sleep apnea

In these cases, the surgery can lead to an immediate improvement in the quality of life.

How Much Does a Rhinoplasty Cost?

Our prices can range anywhere from $4,999 to $12,999. A revision rhinoplasty would be the most expensive procedure we offer.

A Face Lift

The facelift (also called the rhytidectomy) is probably the most well-known facial procedure on the market today. However, it is actually not just one single surgery. It is actually a combination of multiple procedures, customized for each patient.

The exact steps taken will vary depending on what you choose. You can opt for a regular or mini facelift procedure. We also offer a mid-facelift. If you are a man interested in rejuvenating your appearance, TPS even offers men’s facelift procedures.

A Full Facelift

The goal is to give the patient a more youthful, rested, and rejuvenated appearance by treating:

  •   Wrinkles and facial lines
  •   Uneven skin
  •   Jowls or sagging cheeks
  •   Loose neck skin or turkey neck

Full facelifts usually refer to either:

  1. Traditional deep plane facelifts, or
  2. SMAS facelifts

Deep plane facelifts are more complex, which means a longer recovery time. Your surgeon will make a deep incision to tighten the muscles below your skin. They may also reposition skin, fat, and muscle. This requires the experienced hand of a seasoned professional, as the facial nerve is exposed.

On the other hand, SMAS facelifts target a sheet of tissue under your cheek known as the Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System. This helps your surgeon address sagging, jowls, and deep smile lines without creating a ‘stretched’ look.

A Mini Facelift

The mini facelift targets the patient’s cheeks and jowls. This is very popular among younger patients in their 30s and 40s who are seeing a loss of tone and skin elasticity in their lower face and neck. It’s also a go-to option for people who have undergone a full facelift before.

Your surgeon will use small incisions to remove sagging or excess skin in your face, jaw, and neck. The subtle incisions are hidden in the folds behind your ears and your hairline. We may also recommend a fat transfer procedure that harvests fat from other areas of the body to add a healthy fullness, facial balance, and structure to your face.

We often combine facial fat grafting and liposuction with a mini-facelift to achieve the best results.

A Mid Face Lift

This procedure specifically targets the middle of the face—even more so than a full facelift. Your surgeon will focus on smoothing out and tightening the areas around your nose. A full facelift would not provide the same level of attention to those specific areas.

Your surgeon may elevate the fat pads in your cheeks to give you a rejuvenated look and add more healthy volume.

In some cases, we may combine this procedure with traditional facelifts to achieve better facial harmony and deliver the best possible outcome.

All of our facelift procedures are performed by Toronto Plastic Surgeons Wellness Centre. His advanced techniques and technology ensure you get the most vibrant, natural-looking results, while always making sure things never (ever) look ‘overdone.’

A Neck Lift/ Chin Lift

The signs of aging can really show up on your neck and chin. Your skin loses its natural elasticity as you age, and it’s often the first place that extra weight starts to show itself.

This is why so many people come to us for help getting rid of double chins and turkey necks. Removing a double chin and toning the jawline are possible with a strong commitment to diet and exercise, but they are notoriously difficult. Some people are also simply more likely to inherit these conditions.

An expertly performed neck lift can help you:

  • Give you the youthful and defined chin/jawline that we all want
  • Remove unwanted fat in the chin and the jaw
  • Fix loose, sagging, unsightly skin
  • Tighten your neck muscles
  • Remove excess fat

Our clinic is proud to offer one of Canada’s most sought-after neck lift surgeons, Dr. Pirani. His satisfied patients often say that his procedures take 10-15 years off their appearance!

Dr. Asif Pirani will begin with a small incision under the chin. He will then remove any fat and loose skin and then tighten the muscles of the chin and neck. This will give you an amazingly rejuvenated look, with no visible scar whatsoever.

Facial Fat Grafting (Face Fat Transfer)

This is a popular procedure for people with hollows that cause unflattering shadows around the eyes, temples, cheeks, and jawline areas. The goal is to add more healthy volume and vibrant fullness to your face by contouring, shaping, and plumping up your cheeks and lips.

It’s important to know that the results from a fat grafting procedure are permanent! If you went with something like dermal fillers to add fullness to your face, the results would fade over time. But facial fat grafting can help you say goodbye to wrinkles and depressions in the skin that add years to your appearance.

Your surgeon will harvest fat cells from one area of the body (we’re positive you won’t miss it) and redistribute them throughout the parts of your face that could use a bit more volume. The process also involves preparing your fat cells with a centrifuge to remove blood serum and local anesthesia.

A Great Option For Both Sexes

We have seen great results from this procedure in both men and women. The procedure is pretty much the same for both, with a few subtle differences. Women will most often opt to have fat harvested from their hips, thighs, or stomach. Men, on the other hand, will opt to donate fat from their love handles or their gut.

The goals are also slightly different, as each sex will want to add volume to areas of the face traditionally associated with either a masculine or a feminine look.

A Brow Lift

Or maybe you’re unhappy with the lines or sagging skin that you might be seeing in your forehead and brow area. Do you ever find yourself pulling the skin back with your hands to see what you used to look like (and want to)?

The brow lift is a fantastic way to subtract years from your appearance by removing:

  • Lines and wrinkles
  • Frown lines
  • Deep furrows
  • Sagging or hooded eyebrows
  • Uneven or asymmetrical eyebrows

The brow lift will tighten the entire area, giving you a more rested, alert, and youthful look.

Receding Hairline?

The signs of aging above the brow can be magnified in men with a receding hairline. They are seeing new lines on their foreheads and more of their foreheads every time they look in the mirror.

In these situations, our own Dr. Roskies specializes in a procedure called the reverse brow lift. He expertly moves your hairline forward to turn back the clock, so to speak. Or, if your brow is currently sitting too low and crowding your upper eyelids, he can use a minimally invasive endoscopic (telescopic) approach through 5 small ports hidden behind your hairline.

Or, if the ports can’t be placed from above due to the patient’s brow position, the lift can be performed using the upper lid blepharoplasty (upper eyelid) hidden incision.

Why the COVID-19 Lockdown Could Be a Perfect Window for Facial Rejuvenation Procedures

As we mentioned earlier, the COVID-19 lockdown is creating a mini-boom in the plastic surgery industry in Canada and around the world. A lot of people are seeing this as a unique opportunity to get the plastic surgery that they have always wanted.

First of all, the current work-from-home world gives you a chance to recover from your surgery while working from home, without using any of your valuable vacation days. This gives you the opportunity to have a procedure done discreetly during the lockdown.

And people are not just getting facial procedures. A lot of people are getting liposuction to deal with recent weight gain (AKA the Quarantine Fifteen) and regain their pre-COVID bodies. Other people have used this time to get into the best shape of their lives and just need a little body-contouring help to take care of those last few pounds.

Are You Ready to See What’s Possible?

We hope this blog has answered a lot of your questions about facial procedures and surgeries. We know you will probably have many more. And we want to answer them in a one-on-one conversation.

During COVID-19 restrictions, we are currently offering one-on-one video calls in lieu of in-office visits. But these video calls still give us a great chance to discuss your goals and answer any questions you have.

If you are ready to see the new you, we are ready to show it to you. Don’t hesitate! Reach out to us today to see what’s possible.
